Vintage 1970s Disco Yves Saint Laurent YSL Cherry Red Python

Glitz, glamour, and gold were the staples of Yves Saint Laurent in the 1990s. While YSL is known for exotic and eye-catching designs, the 90s incorporated a new layer of luxury to the mix. Presumably from the 1994 collection, this evening coat is made from a silk-wool blend with gold lame threads. The fabric is similar to a matelassé impressed with an abstract fern texture. From a circular neckline, the coat begins with broad, padded shoulders moving into straight, relaxed set sleeves.
